Jose Simon, M.D.

Jose Simon, MD, is the latest neurologist to join the staff of Culicchia Neurological Clinic. Dr. Simon complements the clinic’s practice by offering specialized training in clinical electrophysiology including epilepsy, sleep and neuromuscular disorders. Originally from Cuba, Dr. Simon earned his medical degree from the Central University Las Villas in Cuba and completed a neurology residency and fellowship in clinical electrophysiology at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.

Dr. Simon came to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, to answer the area’s call for more doctors. He was so impressed with the depth of the Culicchia clinic, he decided to join the practice. “This is the best neurological practice in the area,” he says. “All of the physicians here are among the best in the region and I feel fortunate to call them colleagues.”

Dr. Simon and his family are enjoying New Orleans. Married with three children, he enjoys taking the family downtown to learn more about the city, its history and culture. “I love New Orleans restaurants,” he says. “It’s among the best in the world.”
