Dr.
Frank Culicchia, medical director of Culicchia Neurological Clinic, specializes
in neurological surgery. He is board certified and a graduate
of Tulane University School of Medicine.In January, 2006 he was appointed Clinical Professor and Chairman of neurosurgery at LSU Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Culicchia completed a general internship at Charity Hospital
in New Orleans and was named outstanding intern. He completed
a neurosurgery residency at Tulane University Hospital and is
today a clinical associate professor of Neurological Surgery at
Tulane Medical School. Dr. Culicchia completed a fellowship at
the Barrow Neurological Institute in Neurovascular Surgery in
Phoenix, Arizona.
Dr. Culicchia is an active member of the Congress of Neurological
Surgery and served on the board of the Tulane Medical Alumni Association
for six years. He is currently chairman of the department of surgery
at West Jefferson Medical Center, 2001- 2003 and is treasurer
and a member of the board of directors of the Foundation
for International Education in Neurological Surgery.
Additionally,
Dr. Culicchia is chairman of the membership committee, AANS/CNS
Section of Cerebrovascular Surgery. He will serve as the scientific
meeting chair at the 2004 Annual Meeting of the AANS/CNS section
of Cerebrovascular Surgery. He previously served in that role
for the organizations 2002 meeting. He is also a member
of the AANS
Neurosurgery Research and Education Foundation Development Committee.
